Credit Unions aim to help you take control of your money by encouraging you to save what you can, and borrow only what you can afford to repay.

Credit Unions are based in the community, run by the community, for the community. They offer saving and loans at low interest rates.

Within Gateshead there are two credit unions:

This operates throughout the Borough and has payroll deductions in place for employees of Gateshead Council and the Primary Care Trust. There is also a PayPoint facility for all members.
