What is Gateshead Warm Zone?

It is a not-for-profit partnership between Gateshead Council, Gateshead Housing Company and ScottishPower that aims to ensure all homes in Gateshead can save energy and save money.

Gateshead Warm Zone has been operating for over 3 years and has delivered home insulation improvements to over 20,000 homes.

How to save energy and save money?

Get free cavity wall and loft insulation if:

• You are over 60 years; or
• Have a dependent child under six years old: or
• Are on certain benefits: or
• Are calculated as being in fuel poverty: or
• You are a council tenant

Otherwise you pay from only £99 for each insulation measure. All homes are also eligible for a free benefits entitlement review. They have already helped Gateshead residents claim over £2.5 million in new benefits income.
