Training & Support

All our volunteers receive an induction and full training, supported by our dedicated training team.  The time the training process takes varies but for the adviser role it can take 4-6 months to train volunteers to adviser status and up to 12 months before they become fully qualified generalist advisers.

Learning takes place by talking to and observing other workers, attending courses and workshops and completing the self-directed study packs.  At all times our volunteers are fully supported during and after their training.  Currently the Adviser training, which is a national training programme provided by Citizens Advice is equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 and accredited by the National Open College Network.
